Creating a Winning Pitch Video

Creating a Winning Pitch Video

One of the most, if not the most important part of any investment pitch, is the video. With that in mind we’ve put together some of our top tips for creating a winning pitch video…

Keep it brief
Get to the point! Get your message it across quickly and effectively. If you don’t you could find your potential investor’s attention span and interest waning. You should be able to quickly and concisely describe your product or service, the problem it solves and highlight any points that will help to win over potential investors. Don’t forget this is not a sales pitch for someone to buy your product or service; you’re looking for investors, not customers.

Inject some personality
There’s nothing worse than watching a dry and boring video of someone just ‘talking at you’ and expecting you to give them money. Make sure your personality comes across, use humour if it’s appropriate and more than anything show your passion. If you’re not passionate about your own business, how can you expect an investor to be? You could spice the video up a bit with a quick product demonstration, or animation to illustrate the service you will be providing. Even just presenting the facts and figures in a visually interesting and engaging way can really help improve your chances of investment.

Stick to what you’re good at
Unless your business is producing awesome videos, leave it to the pro’s. It’s difficult to get a clean, slick and professional looking videos when you’re going DIY. We highly recommend putting your pitch video in the hands of the professionals. We’ve got a bunch of fantastic video production companies that we can recommend should you need it.

Good luck, and remember: a great pitch video can mean the difference between walking away with empty pockets or a healthy looking bank balance
