What Do You Avoid?
It's easy to list the things you hate or can't stand doing, so this should be easy for you. What are the things you want to avoid at all costs?
This could be -
Housework
Gardening
Cooking
Ironing clothes
Going to Work events
Travelling
Commuting
Shopping
Talking on the phone
Going to School or college
Some of you might be looking at that list and thinking "I don't want to AVOID those things, I like shopping!" or whatever it is on the list. That is a good sign. Because what you like is usually the opposite of what you avoid and that should make things easier to find out what you realy want to do.
For example I don't like people telling me what to do, so I could never work for anyone. I NEED to be self-employed because I am basically unemployable. So I need to do things that don't involve the things that I like to avoid, such as;
Commuting
Travelling too far for business meetings
Staying in Hotels
Eating alone
Sitting in a bar on my own
Being told what to do by people who have never done it or won't take the risks that I do
I like to be my own boss but I also like to be in community with people that I like, whose company I enjoy and who I can learn from.
So I joined a mastermind group. This is a group of people who are on a similar level or who are several levels above where I want to be. We discuss the things that are troubling us or business conundrums and we put into action the advice we are given.
This is not a cheap option.
But I avoid free advice because it's not worth it.
I take advice and take action on the things that I pay dearly for.
